<p>As a practice, it is unreasonable to provide chances in absolutes. Generally, a 3.3 is low for the honors program, however the OPs SAT score makes up for that. Generally, when there are low statistics in consideration, the applicants geographic location, URM status, and socioeconomic status come into play (for honors admissions, not general admission). You are not representative of the entire Honors population, and it would be foolish to think that happens to you is suitable for, or CAN happen to, everyone else.</p>
<p>i got in to the honors program with a 2180 sat, and a 3.4 (however that was good enough to give me top 5% at my school) and 5 APs…which is similar to you</p>
<p>as i said i was into the honors program (but i turned it down-kind of stupidly–i want the whole college experience and i just want to relax for a bit) but i got no money, this is mostly because i applied after the dec. 1 deadline, which is pretty much when you need to apply by to be eligible for scholarhships…</p>
<p>anyways, you are definately into uconn…idk why you askedto begin with, uconn is not a very hard school to get into with your stats at all</p>

A few years ago that’d be true, but lately it’s been tightening things up. I heard about a lot of kids from my high school that were denied, even though I’m sure they’d have gotten in had they applied a few years ago.</p>
<p>my school had most people who applied get in (and my school is by no means considered good or anywhere close–as i said im in the top 5% with a 3.4 ave)</p>
<p>most people who got in took no APs maybe a couple of honors classes, had Bs pretty much throughout HS with average ECs (if not, below-)</p>
<p>therefore i would be absolutely shocked if he doesnt get in…</p>

<p>that was one of the reasons i was less than in love with uconn…they have a relatively high acceptance rate (50%ish last i heard) for a good school…therefore its the equivalent of the top half of most high schools minus the top tenth IMO</p>
