My name is Emir.I'm 20 year old student from Bosnia.Next year I was planning to move to Yale.before I start, just to say that I'd appreciate any kind of assistance, and don't hasitate to comment this post,please..

First of all, just to point out some of the things that will deff.increase my chances:

-very good grades back in high schools, lots of awards, and support from all of my current proffesors at my local Uni of Economics
-proffessional swimmer for like 10 years, and in that time I've achieved very good and impressive results as well
-next week I'm finishing one and only CISCO academy, which means I'll be a network engineer
-spend 3 years in a national choir
-lots of international sport experience

Those are some of the things about me.so,tell me what do current students think about me getting financial aid,and scholarships as well.
And,since I'm trying with a student transfer program, can anyone who has had any kind of experience in this area provide me with some more information ?

Firstly, the competion is very severe in the Transfer section. As per your record, its very good. I think you have to give a GRE, i’m not sure about this. You have a good chance I think, in Yale.
Best of luck Emir.

Are you asking about transferring as an undergraduate with 2 years or less of college completed? Or are you interested in applying for graduate school, after receiving a degree at your current university?

Yale has extensive information about both their transfer process and application to graduate school on their website.

‘‘PheonixR’’, tnx very much for those information.the thing is,I’m a sophomore now,and I was planning after finishing these two years of academic studies to transfer myself…overall, tnx very much from both of you…

Nope you’re not getting in and I will bet my life on that. Sorry but that is the truth, you are nothing spectacular and non-spectacular applicants don’t get into Yale, especially as an international transfer.

Try some lesser colleges like UConn where you actually stand a chance.

…Tnx bunny for posting, but the truth is: I don’t give a damn about your opinion.Just because u’re a laim ass student, who couldn’t have made it,and had to go to UConn, doesn’t mean U should posting bollocks.
but hey,if I’m more than good enough for Cornell,I don’t see the reason why Yale won’t accept me…
and p.s.try busting someone else, cause u’re just waisting your time…

hey Emir, Calm down. There may be posts like this. You should remain leveled. No one knows what chances he/she has in an Ivie. So neither me, nor Honeybunny can tell you what they see. I have known people who have made it to yale with a 1700 SAT score!.
No one can tell you!! Just believe in yourself…and nothing is Impossible!!
bye

tnx man,but it just ****es me off when someone who has no idea about something, acts like that.
tnx man for the support…I do appreciate it very much…
are u a Yale student…?

Emir, there is no sure way of telling what your chances are. You’re an outstanding candidate, but the chances for transfer applicants are far lower than that for freshmen as there are far fewer seats. This is the same for every transfer applicant, no matter how outstanding. Ivy League admissions are based largely on luck as these institutions craft their classes to ensure diversity. E.g. if they have to similar candidates but one is a swimmer and the other a debater, they might take the swimmer if they already have a great debate squad and now want to boost their swim-team!

Yale is need blind to internationals for financial aid, so if you get through, they’ll meet your full demonstrated need.

Please be wary of the opinions given on chances threads. Most of the posters are highschool applicants or parents who have no idea about their own/their child’s chances at elite schools. Even the students who have gotten through are surprised and have little idea how they got through. Admissions Committee members usually do not post on these threads. You definitely have a realistic chance, but your fate is in the Adcoms’ hands. All you can really do is keep your fingers crossed and pour heart and soul into your application. Best of luck!

yeah…that might be the problem…with the transfer student program.but, hopefully they will accept those grades that I’m having right now, cause most of the classes that I have are the same as those ones they have.
but also the fact that they insist on diversity among the students, makes me happy…but thx man for giving me those extra information that I barely know about…
I relized that most of the people who are comenting here, are high school students…
it’s all up to those Admissions Comittee members…it’s nice that someone shares your ambition as well…
