What are my chances?

I'm a Virginia resident

GPA: 3.978 weighted (I know it's bad.. screwed up freshman and sophomore year)
Does it help if your GPA shows a positive trend? I got a 3.5 freshman year, 3.9 sophomore year, and 4.22 junior year.

Junior: AP- US History, Language, Chemistry

Senior: AP- Calc BC, Biology, Comparative Government (which seems to divide into two separate semester long AP's, Comparative Gov and then US Gov, two separate AP Exams), Environmental Science, Art History, Literature

AP Scores: 5- World History, US History 4- Language 3- Chemistry

Math Honor Society Officer

Former tutor at Kumon Math and Reading Learning Center

I don't really have any awards distinctions I'm aware of other than AP Scholar with Honors

Thanks!

great chanceee!! lol, i think you’ll do fine, esp. cause you’re instate! good luck!

You look great, but will the suspension be on your record? You may have to explain it…

What part of Virginia? From NoVa, especially with the suspension, could be tough. From other parts, a much better chance of admission.

Fairfax County, behh… Oh and my counselor said the only thing she’s including about my suspension is checking the yes box for “Has this student ever been suspended?”, so she said I can say whatever I want about it. Hm.

Remember, the Common Application requires you to address any suspensions. If you do not answer that question but your counselor notes that you were suspended that will not look good. Any student is encouraged to explain why he/she was suspended.

Certainly, your academic merits look like they fit W&M’s profile and you would be someone who W&M would encourage to apply. W&M is selective however and has far more qualified people apply than it can admit so just be sure you apply to several schools.
