I actually don’t know much about college admission’s processes, but I can definitely give you a heads up in the government courses you’re going be taking.

Read the syllabus carefully for each teacher, as I’ve taken five government courses, each with different teachers, and I can definitely tell you that each teacher has their own grading criteria. If possible, BUY THE STUDY GUIDES FOR THE TEXTBOOKS. This helps IMMENSELY. Take great notes and don’t hesitate to ask what’s on the test. Seriously, on a test over six or so chapters, asking what’s on the test is pretty legit. Won’t hurt.

Your college GPA’s a 3.5. That’s not bad, but you want to try and not ‘accept’ it and start BSing through your classes. Calculate what your GPA will be with all A’s and use that to keep you going. Aim for a 3.6 first, and then go higher. Keep in mind that you’ll have a cumulative GPA, so you want to use this time to try and get the hard credits out of the way so that if you really get swamped with work from your major, you’ll have something to fall back on. Though this will only really apply to you if you plan on going to some kind of graduate school.

Good luck.

thanks the modern europe and unification textbook was very confusing and used complex terms in the end i used my lecture notes to pull of a B+.

Thanks with the support on the College GPA, i’m hoping to boost it up.

Im really hoping that if i take a lot of political science courses at colleges that it will bolster my application and they will accept me to my expertise in that field.

I think you have a good chance at all the schools except USC.
I don’t think you should worry too much about the 3.5 unweighted college gpa, since you took the initiative to take college level courses; they can’t be too harsh on your for that.
Your ECs are great, and hopefully you will write good essays for them.
Just keep it up and get better grades this semester.
You can do it!
Will you be applying to other UCs as well?

nah. No other uc’s have international relations. Davis is too close to home and i want to explore. =)

The only others with ir are Sf state and sjsu and they are too easy to get into.

USC is my goal. I’m willing to do anything it is to get into their international relations program which sheds light to my taking of college political sciences courses in high school.
I’m thinking if i pull off a 34/35/36 on the act or a 2200-2400 on the sat i’m in contention for a spot at usc.

Hi WeiWang9

Okay, notice that the OP is not applying to Princeton. Your post, while encouraging, is starting to feel like spam :(

thanks for the spam weiwang.

i’ll be sure to write myself a handwritten acceptance letter when i get into “Pinceton”

I think you’re in everywhere, but a 75% chance at USC.
