so....any opinions?? please give suggestions of what would make me a stronger applicant if you can

did you get in

i didn’t apply yet

if i improved my gpa from a 3.1255 (im from one of the best high schools in the us, so slu asks for a 3.17 at my school) to a 3.6, i would have a good chance of getting in?

and if you have a 3.83, why do you want to go to slu? couldnt you get into a school asking for a gpa like yours?

Hey everyone,
Below is a link to the profile for the class of 2015 (our first year class). We list GPA ranges, rank, and SAT ranges.

[St. Lawrence University: Admissions and Financial Aid](http://www.stlawu.edu/admis/profile.html)

Of course there is a lot more to an application besides GPA and SAT scores. First off we are test optional and do not require SAT/ACT scores. Your activities, community service, letters of recommendation, and essay all play major roles in the admissions decision.

To the tread starter. First, your GPA is strong and you should take pride in your achievement. Second, try to pick a school that is right for you, not where it is ranked in the eyes of others. Third, SLU is a terrific school and the education you can get there is top notched. What is my basis for stating this you might ask? I did not attend although I have spoken to many who have and to a person they enjoyed it and found it prepared them well for work and life. For what it is worth, my son will be applying there in the next couple of days. While he is also applying to other, purportedly “higher ranked schools,” SLU remains among the top on or two. Why, great academics, great people, and good enough sports. Good luck to you.

And don’t forget, GPA is all relative to the rigor of your courses and the rigor of your particular high school.
