What are my odds?

So, for starters, I'm currently a junior in high school. I go to high school in Fayetteville, AR, which is actually one of the best high schools in the state. For years I always thought that my dream school would be U of Texas- Austin, as it's where a majority of my mom's family went and because I'm actually from San Antonio. But since learning more about the entire college landscape, my interest in universities has shifted and I've realized that there are tons of other places that interest me. I haven't looked too much into finances yet, but from purely a chances of acceptance standpoint. This is what I've got on the board right now:

GPA: 3.92 (U)/ 4.03 (W)
I didn't get a chance but to take one AP class prior to 11th grade, so the weighted hasn't had much of a chance to increase to this point (honors classes don't count as weighted here, only AP).
ACT: 33
9th grade:
Honors Geometry (took honors Alg 1 in 8th grade)
Pre-AP Physical Science
Pre-AP US history
Pre-AP English 9
Principles of Engineering
Basketball/Track
Band

10th grade:
Honors Alg 2
Pre-AP Biology
Pre-AP English 10
AP US History (4 on exam)
Health
Spanish 1
Band

11th grade:
PreCalculus/Trigonometry
Honors Chemistry
AP Language and Composition (hoping for a 5)
AP World History (hoping for a 4)
Oral Communications
Spanish 2
Band
Going to Arkansas Governor's School this summer (1 out of 400 selected in the state)

12th grade (upcoming):
AP Calculus AB
AP Government
AP Literature
AP Physics B
AP Computer Science
Spanish 3
Band

Member of National Honor Society
Model UN
Played in Carnegie Hall in NYC

Schools that interest me:
UT- Austin
Stanford
Ohio State
USC
MIT
University of Michigan
Northwestern
U of Chicago
Still pretty open to others as well

I realize I need to take the SAT and plan to do so ASAP. And just speaking hypothetically, my goal is to finish HS with a 4.16 weighted and at least a 3.95ish unweighted.

You need to look into finances, because none of those out-of-state public schools are likely to give you much, if any, financial aid. If your family can’t afford full pay, you can take them right off your list.

Due to the institutions themselves or my resume?

Why do you NEED to take the SAT? Every school accepts both ACT and SAT scores and neither is preferred.

Well, I suppose I don’t then. It seems that EVERYONE on here has taken it, and I didn’t know if there was any bias at certain universities for one or the other. Do I not need to take it then?

What’s your rank? Have you taken subject tests? What’s your ACT breakdown? (For MIT, the math score is the most important part…

Your gpa and ACT are good, but your EC’s are kind of weak…

Agree with LesleyCordero, good academically but not much in the way of EC’s. You’ll definitely get into some of the schools on the list, but maybe you should apply to some in-state publics just in case the aid at some of these schools fall through. But being from Arkansas definitely doesn’t hurt…

The institutions. With a few exceptions, public universities do not offer good aid to students from outside their own state.

The way my high school ranks is that with a 4.0 (W), you’re automatically #1 in class. So i qualify for first in class. I haven’t taken any subject tests, which is what I plan on doing in June. ACT breakdown right now is 35 Reading, 34 English, 31 Math (need to refresh Geometry), and 30 science. 10 on the essay.

I realize EC’s need more work. I plan on doing a lot of community work during the summer. Probably will join and run for a position in the Foreign Language club next year as well. Thanks for all of the advice/questions.

Stanford and MIT are unlikely, but the others are possible and probable (Ohio State).

What would a recommendation from Bill Gates do for me?
