Hi, everyone! I'm a National Merit Finalist from Texas who has been homeschooled from the 2nd to 12th grades. My SAT score was 2280 (770 Writing, 750 Math, 760 Reading, I think), and I'm still waiting for my ACT scores but expect them to be about 33-34. I'm an active black belt in karate (have been working on it for seven years), and I take piano and voice lessons and am involved in the local youth choir, and I take Sign Language classes through my church. Oh, and I have a 4.0 in my HS classes and a 4.0 in my dual credit classes (I'll have fifteen hours by this summer). I applied to only two schools (stupid, I know), and now I'm not looking forward to either school. Are there any Ivy Leagues (haha, I'm kidding myself) or similar schools that will accept applications under any conditions this late? Thanks.

i think, (think is the key word hahaha), that you're only option would be to transfer if you don't want to go to those schools.

G-g-g-gap year!

^oh yeah!....

If a gap year is something that you would ever actually seriously consider, you need to make sure that you would pursue SERIOUS, REWARDING activities during the year. Any school will be a little skeptical of a student who sits around at home for a year when he/she could be attending college or making a difference in his her/life, his/her family's life, or in the world as a whole.

Do Peace corps, Red Cross Americorps Vista, or something similar. No doubt you'll see interesting places, and your stats are right on par.

The Peace Corps usually requires a BA/BS, not to mention that you need to have 18 months free.

But there are hundreds of rewarding programs you could choose from.

Thanks, guys! I really think I'll have to attend one of the colleges I've chosen, because my parents don't want to pay tuition, and NM will get me almost a free ride at one of them- but not if I skip a year. I'll keep this all in mind, though.

^ Keep in mind you may be able to transfer to schools after the first year. Harvard isn't taking transfers, but I'm not sure about other ivys.
