What are some easy GPA-boosting classes?

I'm looking to take 1-2 easy classes that you can pretty much get an A in. Not sure what my gpa will be after this semester, but I kinda want to bring it up lol.

Do you guys have any recommendations? I'm in LandS, majoring in MCB. I'm finishing the AC requirement this semester, and it also fulfills the social and behavioral breadth. Obviously, i have classes for the biological and physical breadths. Any recommendations for the other breadths? like art and literature, philosophy, etc.

Also, my telebears appointment for phase 1 is during my chemistry lab, so obviously I won't be able to do it then. Do i have to sign up for classes directly at that time? or do i get the whole day or something? how does it work?

Thanks!

i took philos12A, learned a lot and was tr

The Stanford course catalogue should be online somewhere…but I think they limit it to their athletes only.

For Arts and Lit, English 80K.

For Philosophy, any Buddhist Studies class.

thanks weebly and crow. 55cali, are you int he right forum o.O?

any other recommendations? i’m also planning on finishing r1b and am taking chem3b/3bl fall semester.

He’s in the right forum. It’s a joke.

[Stanford stops providing list of classes distributed to athletes - ESPN](<a href=“Transfer Talk: Man City eye Inter's Barella if Silva leaves - ESPN”>Stanford stops providing list of classes distributed to athletes - ESPN)

You must be a freshman if you don’t get the jab at stanfurd…(yes, that is how it is really spelled at Cal).

Oh lol, wow. Yes, I’m a freshman. And yes, i know we spell it like that lol.

Anyway, nothing wrong with trying to bring GPA up a little lol with easy classes…is there? o.O

Take philosophy 12A or math 55.

Those will make your brain hurt so much, you pray to God asking why does everyone NOT have an A+.

right…anyone else? lol. i’m serious. i’m also taking chem3b/3bl, and i suck at chem, so i need some good, interesting, and easy classes…

Psych 2.

You still have to read the long book, but if you do, it’s a guaranteed A

i’m a freshamn, and the schedule says its designed for juniors seniors lol.

There were freshmen enrolled in Psych 2 last semester.

also, can someone answer my telebears question? since my time is during my chem lab…

oh ok, thanks weebly. what kind of stuff do we learn in the class? are you sure it is pretty easy?

tell your GSI the week before that you’ll need to step out for a few minutes to do your telebears. just make sure to plan your lab tasks such that nothing needs your attention at that time (letting a solution sit to recrystallize is an excellent example of this).

you have 24 hours to do your telebears, plus open hours afterwards, but classes fill up really quickly, so you want to sign up ASAP. especially since you’re going for chem 3b/3bl. you’ll want to get yourself as high up on the waitlist as possible.

i hope this is not a stupid question…but im an incoming freshman, and i was wondering, for the 7 breadth course you take…it can be ANY classes that they provide on the list right? meaning, it does not have to relate to your intended major in college of letters and science

regarding post#12: psych 2 is designed for juniors and seniors because it is designed for students not intending to declare psych (it is generally too late by then since it is capped). if you think you might ever consider psych, take psych 1 instead of 2 since it covers pretty much the exact same content. if you take psych 2 as a frosh and only then realize you might want to be a psych major, just be warned you will have to take 1 too.

@ caiacs: agree 100%. it is very. . . VERY painful seeing the strugglefest that happens in philos12A…

i hope you’re right with math 55, since i’m taking it next semester. would love to have a class as easy as philos12A back in my life… mmm…

If Philosophy 12A was easy for you, wouldn’t Philosophy 140 - 149 also be easy for you?

^ idk, but either way i’ll never get to take that class. i’m on a pretty tight sched so all the classes i take have to work toward my majors.

@UC123, u got it. @ insertname, i know you got the phys breadth down, but astro C10 is pretty chill / interesting / doesn’t take up too too much time. maybe you’d want to check it out for a quick A to bump the GPA.
