Law and Order: Special Victims Unit is my favorite show by far. The characters and plots are fantastic, and Hargitay and Meloni work wonderfully together to bring the stories to life.

You may like some of these, you may hate some of these. Try 'em anyway. x)

Movies: Definitely try Shutter Island and maybe A Clockwork Orange, if it’s not too weird for you. How do you feel about The Matrix?

TV: You should try Jonathan Creek and Misfits. They’re both British shows, very different from each other… Misfits is a lot more quirky, explicit, and modern, whereas Jonathan Creek is a sharp-witted & comical 90’s twist on murder mystery detective shows. You can find all episodes in their entirety on Youtube - I recommend starting from the first episode of both. Also, as far as reruns go, you can’t go wrong with a little Fresh Prince or I Love Lucy.

Also, if you’re up for the highest quality sketch comedy ever to exist, watch skits from A Bit of Fry and Laurie. There are zillions on Youtube and they’re all Britishly hilarious.

Jeeves and Wooster is great, as is Blackadder. Anything the two of them touch is pure gold. Oh and OP, you’ll recognize Laurie as Dr. Greg House. Many people are surprised to find out he’s actually a British comedian.

3rd Rock from the Sun and Pushing Daisies are both great shows to check out. This is coming from a huge fan of Community and How I Met Your Mother

There was this one show on fox(?) called New Amsterdam that was amazing! They have reruns on fancast.com, still one of my favorite shows years later.
