I was recently denied from an internship at the Simons Summer Research Program.. Although I had a competitve GPA (4.1) and great recommendations, I guess I didn't have enough research experience. (Just saying this to give you an idea of my applicatin potential for certain programs if you have suggestions) I wanted to participate in a neuroscience lab, but did not get the oppurtunity. I still want to do something this summer relating to thsi subject!

Northwestern College | Neuroscience Camp
I was considering THIS camp. It is a good price, though only for a week. Know anything about it?

Most of all, if you know of any great programs out there, (they DON'T have to be internships!!) for science, especially neuroscience, let me know!

bump…its getting late for applications. mmm

I would definitely look around see if you can find the research arms of any hospitals you might have nearby. Their researchers are generally looking for some free labor to help with processing data or running clinical studies, so you don’t really need that much experience.

When I applied to my current volunteer research position, I didn’t have that many qualifications either; I assure you that my qualifications were not spectacular [B in Biology, an 800 on the SATII Bio-E, Columbia U’s Science Honors Program] and it was almost entirely based on my interest in participating in and gaining a greater understanding of research. As long as that comes across, there should be no barriers to your participation.

Good luck, by the way. :]

Thanks for the advice, I think I’ll do that!
