I am able to speak 3 languages fluently, what do you guys think are some of the outstanding extracurricular activity I can participate in where my language skills can be put into actual practice? I couldnt really think of anything so im here to seek some help.

Thanks in advance!

The only thing I can think of is a translator… hmmmmmm.

You might be able to volunteer as a translator to help out new immigrants with administrative challenges, like filling out forms or dealing with entities like the phone company or the gas company. If there is a newcomers club or other immigrant aid society in your area, see if they offer that type of service and if they’d accept a teen volunteer.

hmm yeah that does sound like a good plan but I really do not know where to find these things but thanks for offering your ideas I will do it along them and see what I get!

I second the suggestions to volunteer as a translator/interpreter for new immigrants. Alternatively, you could also try looking for community service trips to go abroad, where you could actively use the languages you know.

Find your local public health clinic if you live in a reasonably diverse metro area. Our local public health clinic is desperate for people who are fluent in spanish, french, and chinese to act as translators for patients (and bonus points to you, if you happen to have an interest in medicine, social services or public health!)

I’m a polyglot and I’m doing translation of contemporary literature. I don’t know if you’re that advanced, but it’s something really impressive to be able to say you translated this entire novel.

Yeah, someone translated Harry Potter into Mongolian in the last cycle and he had his pick.
