I’ve heard Wash U is very similar to Tufts, but what else? I’m seriously considering applying to Tufts ED. I love the school and its environment, but I’m wondering how it ranks in the big picture of things. Particularly, could someone tell me how Tufts compares prestige-wise with the Ivies/Wellesley/Emory/Rice/Duke/any other school I may not know about? Thank you!
…Are you planning on applying ED to the most prestigious school? If you’re wondering how it “ranks”, check the rankings. They’re all excellent.
I have no idea about prestige, but Tufts has a similar environment and draws similar types of students as Carleton and William & Mary
Prestige is subjective, but I would say it’s on par with Emory, Rice, Georgetown, Wash U, etc. It’s not quite as prestigious as the ivies/Stanford/MIT (again just my opinion), but still very impressive.
Tufts is different than Rice, Emory, WashU, etc because it is not the premier school in its market.
Tufts is a really good school but nowhere near the top Boston schools.

(Tufts weighs in at precisely 925 milliHarvards of prestigiosity)
What do you want to study and why do you like Tufts? WUSTL is a bad comp I’d you want Boston, and Carleton if you want urban. Are you looking for engineering? International Relations? Prestige /rankings are a vague marker for fit.
