I have one AP class right now and i will complete my A to G requirements after graduate. my SAT score is 1200 and ACT score is 18. I passed both Cahsee test (English and Math) . I also worked as volunteer at summer around 260+ hours. I heard that San Jose state university is a good college. Is there a chance i can get into San Jose state university.

What is your intended major?
What is your CSU GPA? https://secure.csumentor.edu/planning/high_school/gpa_calculator.asp
Calculate your Eligibility index: (CSU GPA x200) + (ACT comp x10)
Once you have your EI, you can take a look at the link for SJSU and see the EI thresholds for each major. If you are above your intended major threshold, you have a good chance for an acceptance. Juse be aware that each year the thresholds can change based on the current applicant pool.

You should also consider, Humbdolt state, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sac State, SFSU and Chico State.

Right now, Chico, Sonoma and many of the programs at SJSU are probably out of reach.

I’d suggest you to re-take your SAT or ACT. As you can see from the formula above, a few more points there will improve your Eligibility Index and open up other campuses to you.

I’d add Monterrey to that list.

my csu gpa is 3.0

So based on your CSU GPA and ACT of 18, your EI is 780. What major are you targeting at SJSU and the other CSU’s? What is your SAT breakdown (Math + CR)?

i havent take sat yet but i just registred today

i like psychology business chinese

3.0 GPA calculated by the CSU method means that you should be admitted to non-impacted majors at non-impacted campuses if you are a California resident. See https://secure.csumentor.edu/planning/high_school/cal_residents.asp .

The only bay area CSU campus that is not impacted is East Bay. Of its various majors, only nursing is impacted. See http://www.calstate.edu/sas/impactionsearch/ and http://www.calstate.edu/sas/impactioninfo.shtml . Of course, you can try for other campuses like San Francisco and San Jose.
