What are some statistics that describe colleges well?

I read Loren Pope's Going Beyond The Ivy League (1995), and they had statistics of phd's earned by graduates, science test scores, but they were ridiculously old (1950-1985?).

I am curious about more up-to-date statistics that not tell you about selectivity but about the colleges' ability to bring the most out of their students.

Please let me know if there are more stats of graduates like those above or some others if they are worth checking out.

Thank you.

Best bet is to ask the schools you are interested in for current stats about job placement, grad school acceptance rates, med school scores, etc. Nearly all schools should be willing to provide this information.
