Can anyone help me out? I absolutely LOVE UVA and everything about it and I'd really like to get in and do Foreign Affairs. But, I'll be an international student (im a sophomore). Therefore:

How hard is international student admissions?

Roughly speaking, what are the average stats for accepted students?

Do they place an emphasis on EC's

Thanks so much! I'll return the favor!

BTW: I will be doing IB

I'm an international student and I was accepted to UVa last year. I took the full IB diploma (3HL, 3SL, EE+TOK) during high school and got 40 points, with my SAT being 2160 (CR-710, M-750, W-700). I had also received a likely letter from them, so if you have stats like mine you should have a fairly good chance provided that your essays and ECs and strong.

I would think that taking the full IB diploma prepares you quite nicely for admission into many selective colleges, simply because you're taking on challenging courses and doing loads of ECs to fulfill you CAS requirements. Best of luck and I'd be happy to answer any other questions you might have.

wow a 40 on the IB is extremely impressive
