What are the basic things to know for AP Physics B?

So, I'm taking the test tomorrow and I'm not prepared at all. Some basic questions I have are:

What equations are good to know for the multiple choice section?

If I do all of the FRQ on the College Board's website from 2004 to 2011, forms A and B, and know those, will I be able to score well on this year's exam or are the questions too varied and unpredictable to guarantee that?

Any other advice to offer a completely unprepared student?

Thanks CC!

Ok lets start with the basics. There are so many formulas to know. I would recomend looking over the free response formula sheet. But know vf= vi +at. Vf^2 =vi^2 +2aX…etc. There are too many to list here but use that formula sheet. Regarding the free response, the questions will be different than those given on ap central. However they are a very good gage of how you will do. Last minute advice: walk in relaxed and pace yourself. Good luck! If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Of course I would be well prepared if I knew all of those ^^. But for someone who doesn’t have the time to memorize all of them, what would be the most useful ones? For example, the kinematics ones, F=ma, F=kq1q2/r^2, K=1/2mv^2, W=FD, V=IR, P=IV, F=qvbsintheta, etc.

As for that last point, I’m not sure being relaxed is a possibility in my current state of…ehm…lacking knowledge. Anyway, thanks for the quick response!

yes mechanics and electricity and magnetism are key

Alright, got another question. If I memorize every equation on the equation sheet, and know what all the variables are and in what situations they would be used, what is the likelihood of getting a five if I have no prior experience with doing MC or FRQ before? Are the questions mostly just plug-n-chug with some simple derivations/substitutions, or more complex?

Thanks!

It’s not plug and chug. You need to know the intuition behind the formulas or they are useless to you. I know from experience…

I wish AP Math/Science tests were plug and chug…

Thanks for the replies guys, though it sounds like I am royally boned for this exam. I got a 75% on the MC just using memorized equations, but looking at some FRQ I have no absolutely no idea what to do on a bunch of them. 3 here I come!
