What are the chance of meeting girls in engineering classes?

Hi, I will be starting college next year and will probably major in civil or environmental engineering. What are the chances of me meeting girls? I will be going to FIU which is pretty big and has like 40,000 students, but from what I've heard there's not a lot of girls in engineering.

Hey Marco, I’m a senior at the University of South Florida, and while I can’t really comment on FIU, I can tell you that there are a quite few girls in USF’s environmental engineering program. Unfortunately for me, I’m a computer science major and in my two years at USF, I have only seen 3 in any of my classes. That’s actually the running CS joke at USF, “if there’s more than 3 girls in the class, you’re in the wrong room.” Good luck at FIU!

If you are at a university with 40,000 students there will be plenty of women even if they are not in your classes or major. Get involved in extracurricular activities and you can meet a lot of them.

I hope I have better luck than you LexNix lol. I really want to be be an engineer, so even if there aren’t that many girls in my classes I don’t mind. I just wanted to know what the probability of meeting girls in engineering majors are.
