hah take the SAT II chinese. 60+% get 800, so it must be easy ;)

I can assure you that if S took the Chinese test, he would not be getting an 800!! I'll suggest it to him, though. :)

Math IIc is definitely the easiest, having a lavishly generous curve.

what kinda math is in IIc?

why is Math II EASIER Than Math I?

Math II is easier because the curve is so generous. For instance, if you miss about 5 on the IC, your score will drop to about 700. On the other hand, you can get about 8 wrong on the IIC and still get an 800.

Physics and Writing are the easiest-you can pull off great scores with minimum test prep :)

By a mistake I posted this on another thread: How is IIC the easiest if I am an honors math student, taking BC calc, doing well, on my way to a 5; got 800 on SAT1 math, and got 630 on math IIC?

A lot of people do excellently in school and can't do SAT Math to save their lives.

Sounds like me...!

but fids vladimir got 800 on his SAT I

Did you prep for it vlad?

The SAT I math is the most basic thing imaginable. It's basically just 9th grade level math, if even.

A 630 on the IIC is what, 34th percentile? Most kids do extremely well on the IIC, because the curve is so generous.

writing = easiest SAT II ever. no studying, wrote a hilarious personal story for the essay, got 800

Yeah, I found writing to be the easiest.

Do you need to have taken AP physics to do exceptionally well (over 700) on the SAT II? I have taken a basic freshman course, but I work hard, and I have the Barrons book... any advice? Also, my highschool doesn't offer American Literature courses, could I take the Literature SAT II with just critical reading skills or does it require you to know a lot about American Lit?

no. I've taken physics in summer school and we didn't have enough time to get to electricity/magnetism, but I got a 790 on the test. The test is very conceptual and heavily on electricity/magnetism. Don't use Barron's, it's like AP physics B. Also i thought PR regular problems were unneccesarily hard, but the practice tests werer good. I think you should use PR(only practice test), and Kaplan in general. Over 700 is pretty easy, since the curve is nice.

Do you HAVE to do maths in the SATs or ACTs? I'm definitely a humanities-inclined person, and tend to shy away from the sciences.

I like history... I just suck at remembering the years and names.

SAT II Chinese is ridiculously easy. (No offense, but it is really like Kindergarten/1st grade Chinese...oh well, I don't know French, Hebrew, Italian, Korean on the SAT II, so feel free to laugh at me). However, if you happen to mess up and get 790, you drop to 32nd percentile or something...haha.

I heard we had to take at least one english, one math, and then we could pick any other subject... am I wrong? Because, personally, i'd definitely rather skip the math, and just do two history's. Do colleges look at it negatively if you don't take at least one math?
