AP rock science

AP Lunch is a pretty hard exam.

Sorry for the derailment but the previous post reminded me of a question I’ve been meaning to ask: Does collegeboard ever create new AP tests? Such as geology? Or astronomy? Those would be amazing… And if they did how would we find out?

That’s odd… I found it the easiest one I’d ever taken, and got nearly perfect on it (admittedly, I was a bit lenient on myself on the FRQ grading). Maybe your teacher gave you bad tests…

Yup

Music Theory anyone?

Art History is the hardest exam I ever took. Calculus might have been easier if I had prepared for it, but the sheer volume of B.S.ing required on the APAH exam is ridiculous. I mean, Expressionism?! How on earth could they make that an essay topic?

However, Physics C is supposed to be pretty hard. At least that’s what I’ve heard.

No way

I don’t doubt it. This is why I decided not to self-study it.

This year I took APUSH, APES, and APHG. I would say that even though all were fairly easy, APUSH was the most challenging because the amount of material covered in the course as opposed to my other AP’s (both self-studies) was a lot.

For me at least, this is how the list would go:

HARDEST

Physics C
Latin
US History
Comparative Government
US Government
Human Geography
English Literature
English Language
Statistics
Macroeconomics
Calculus BC
Psychology
Chemistry

EASIEST

Out of English Language, Spanish Language, APWH, and US Govt, I say Spanish.

But honestly, the sad thing is that my honors physics course is harder than any of them. >.> This is mainly due to the awfulness of my teacher, though.

what is this honors physics? Our school only has AP physics or no physics.

Hardest one for me has got to be French. Music Theory is getting there.

oh this is reassuring. I’m trying to self study music theory and art history.

Music theory isn’t bad. art history… well good luck, you’ll need it.

Ap World History. aka the History of Everything That Ever Happened, Ever.

@Bobtheboy

Our school has normal, honors, and AP physics. There isn’t much of a difference between honors and regular physics, but honors looks better. Haha.

But the people in AP Physics here absolutely hate it. That and Chem are probably the hardest APs offered at my school, but I have not taken either one so I can’t really say.

I have found my AP classes and exams to be challenging but bearable when I just breathe. So, I theorize ( based on my strengths and weaknesses) the hardest APs would be those in physics, calculus, and definitely chemistry.

Out of the ones I’ve taken, from hardest to easiest, I’d personally rank them as:

1) Spanish Lang (not that great at Spanish)
2) Physics C E&M

–large difference–

3) Physics C Mechanics
4) Calc BC (taken by itself, it’s somewhat difficult, but with its enormous curve, it’s one of the easiest)
5) APUSH (only cause I had a horrible DBQ last year)
6) World History
7) Physics B
8) European History
9) Biology
10) Human Geography
11) Any art portfolio
12) US Govt

–another large difference–

13) Micro
14) Macro
15) English Lit
16) English Lang
17) Psych

Out of the tests I have personally taken, this would be my ranking for most to least difficult:

Physics C: Mechanics

Chemistry

Biology

Microeconomics

US History

Calculus AB

European History

Calculus BC

World History

Literature

Language

US Government

Environmental Science

Chinese (native speaker)

Although, to be honest, the only reason I considered Microeconomics “difficult” is because I self-studied it (meaning that I basically learned the entire course the week of the test), and I got the test date wrong (I thought it was 12pm on Friday, and on Thursday at 12:10pm I realized that the test was on Thursday and it had already started. Not good. I arrived at the testing site half an hour late and totally panicky, which obviously did nothing to help my concentration during the test itself).

I’ve heard from a lot of people (including some native speakers) that the French test is just brutal. I’m guessing that any of the language exams would be difficult for a non-native speaker, although if you’re a native speaker, the Chinese test is ridiculously easy and very generously curved to boot.

@ vulpix…did you take physics c w/out physics b? I ask bc I’m wondering where u would put b on that scale
