What are the "joke" APs?

it really depends on what you are good at. I thought that AP Physics C was easy as a course (I really love physics), but it definitely was not an easy test (mainly that one darn FR question)

AP Calculus BC was a very easy test as well, but I wouldn’t say it is a joke.

As far rigorous courses are concerned…What are more recognized by colleges, AP or Honors classes?

The reason I ask is because we get summer homework for our AP classes and my AP Language class has to do read several books, document those books, read 10 references (a.k.a magazines articles, newspapers, etc.), then there are some other tasks listed that I don’t even know what they are. So I was thinking of taking an Honors Writing class.

Nuh uh! Man, I was trying to finish the meat casserole! But it was too nasty!

I ended up getting a 3 on the exam! Man!!!

AP Environmental Science

At my school, it is literally full of just Indians who just want another AP

AP Art History is a joke.
But most of the math and science ones are pretty hard.
AP Bio is mostly studying and less hw but the tests are more important.
AP languages are alright if you’re good at languages.
Human Geography AP and Music Theory AP are also pretty joke-y.

AP Music Theory isn’t “joke-y” if you’ve been playing piano for less than a year and have never had a private lesson in your entire life.

karcynk, AP classes are recognized as being more challenging than honors classes by colleges.

My school has AP Studio Art (or was it Fashion Design?) and AP Java… I’m pretty sure you can call those jokes. Is there even a real AP Fashion Design???

It’s Studio Art–there is no fashion design. And Computer Science, not Java. XD And really? Without having taken it, I’m not sure you can say Studio’s a joke. Just because it’s not a hard science doesn’t mean it can’t be challenging–and art’s /hard/, man. I could never do it.

CS is a total joke, though. As long as you have basic knowledge of Java and cram the week before, you’ll ace it. I mean, they /give/ you the code! You don’t even have to memorize it!

It’s really easy to get an A on the AP Sleeping Test, especially if you snore.

not sure why no one’s mentioned ap stats yet.
nothing to learn except a few equations, and you get the calculator for the entire ap test.

I’m not going to lie, AP Environmental Science was a joke considering I didn’t study all. APES is just a little biology (the ecology stuff), a little common sense, a little basic math, a little Earth Science, and the little that is left is for studying. I studied from PR for about a month before the test (it was one of my first APs so I was nervous) but when I actually sat down for the test and opened the booklet, I chuckled a little. I’m taking a whole lot more APs in the next two years so my mind will probably change but APES is the easiest thing in the world.

Depends on the teacher,
but AP stats last year (sophomore), I barely did anything, and the teacher barely did anything and I still got a 5.

Geography and statistics for sure

^for human geo, I drew a picture for the last FR last year and I still somehow got a 5…so yea I guess its pretty easy.

But physics is really hard, on the other hand. So is bio (atleast for me)

But the last FRQ last year was really easy. All you needed was common sense and the ability to understand a graph.

^What FRQ? For human geo? Well I never learned the last question.
For physics…hmm im just bad…

The last one was about women’s literacy in Southwest Asia or something, right?

Hmm dont remember, it was last year…but Im just saying that I either got really really lucky to get a 5 or the test was really easy aside from that last question because I completely did nothing for that question.

But it really depends on the teacher…for exmaple, our AP Calc and APUSH averages are reallly really high because we have good teachers but AP Chem is down (even though the nat. average for chem is higher than US) because our AP Chem teachers are bad.

Okay, I don’t know what people are talking about when they claim that AP Art History is a joke exam because it certainly is not at all. To really succeed on that exam and not just get a 3, you need to be very well versed in not only the various art pieces, but the meanings and their historical relevance to the time periods. Plus, most American students know nothing about art to begin with making the class a course taught from scratch.

But on another note, I would hesitate to call any AP a joke, but one knows that APES is subpar when the state universities of Arizona stop considering it a lab science…
