What are the music programs like at these schools?

<p>Hello. I did a quick search here on the music forums but couldn't seem to find much information on two schools that I'm considering going to.</p>

<p>I'm planning to major in music and I was wondering if anybody could give me insight into the music programs at Hofstra University and SUNY New Paltz. </p>

<p>Does anybody have any information on either of schools with regard to their music programs? I'm not sure whether or not I want to focus more on performance or education, if that influences anything.</p>

<p>The go to SUNY’s for music ed are Fredonia and Potsdam. Purchase is a highly competitive conservatory, but does not offer music ed.
