What are the odds at Le Rosey Institut?

I am looking at Le Rosey institut and I have been finding many contradicting statements. First of all, what is the age that they stop giving out scholarships to because people have said that it is 14 but on the website it says 17. Also what would be my chances of getting in for ninth grade? I am currently in Seventh grade and I have a GPA of 3.95. I have taken the SATs and gotten within the range of 490-590 in each subject. I am in CTY. I speak french and Spanish fluently. I speak some french. I can understand and read various other languages. I have heard the school has started caring about grades more. I would also like students or former students to post as to know many points of views. Thank you.

What do you mean by “people”? Unless it’s like… official people (say, principals?) rather than gossiping people on CC, then you should follow the website.

“I speak french and Spanish fluently. I speak some french.”
Huh?

Your grades are good enough. Now, if you need financial aid, it’s a completely different story, but if your family is capable of paying the 80k+ tuition/year, then you’re probably in. Of course, I don’t know too much about that school but we[as in CC] can’t really judge since a) we don’t know you personally b) I’m not an expert on Le Rosey admissions c) You haven’t listed anything to do with your extra-curriculars.

I heard they rarely give out financial aid. RARELY

Heh. I heard their financial aid is “close to non-existent”. Of course, this is only wild speculation…

Is there nobody else?

le rosey is really for the rich, although i hear scholarships exist but are rare. if you’re looking for academics, I would strongly recommend one of the other schools mentioned on here like andover or exeter because they do provide financial aid along with a slew of other schools.

You say you’ve taken the SSAT - what was your composite percentile? I think 490-590 in each subject, depending on your age, would land you sub-30th percentile…

Le Rosey administers its own admission test, though.

No, i took the SAT’s not the SSAT.

Okay. So what grade are you going into? Because again those scores still aren’t the best, just saying. But also, once again, Le Rosey administers its own admission test, so the SAT won’t have much to do with your acceptance or rejection. The general consensus here is that the biggest factor in Le Rosey admissions is how much money your family has

I am currently in 7th grade and I took the test in 7th grade.

i am going into 8th and i want to join Le Rosey for 9th.

Le Rosey is for rich people, they RARELY gove out FA. That said, their academics are good, but not on par with, say, Exeter. the SHE GLAD M&M schools give out lots of FA, i suggest you try one of them. Where are you coming from?

The East Coast of the U.S.

If you can afford it, go for it. If you can’t… you’d have more luck looking into need-blind schools like Andover.

Izzy Busy Bee i know Milton is one of them…but what is the second M referring to is “SHE GLAD M&M”?

Middlesex.

Oh, I have never heard of that school.

Oh? It’s a prestigious school with a very well-regarded English department, I believe. Izzy the busy bee (or something like that? :D) is going there this year, so if you need an essay on why to apply there, contact her… Haha.

But what do you mean by SHE GLAD?

SPS
Hotchkiss
Exeter

Groton
Lawrenceville
Andover
Deerfield

It’s another one of many acronyms representing several elite schools.
