What are the odds? Help!

I applied to the University on October 10th and I still have not heard back from them. Does this mean my chances of being accepted are decreased? I am an out of state student, but I have noticed other out of state applicants have had their decisions for awhile. I have called the school two times to ask around when I would find out and all they say is that I will for sure know by the end of February. I applied to CLA and CEHD, I have a GPA of 3.6 out of a 4.5 scale, a score on the ACT of a 21, and I am in honors classes at my school. When I applied I also sent 3 rec letters and it is making me very nervous that I have not heard back yet because this is my dream school. I know it is a Big 10 school and they get many applicants, but I applied to a different Big 10 a month and a half after MN, and I found out from them about 3 weeks ago. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? Thank you!

That’s funny I also applied on October 10! Haven’t heard back yet, also out of state. Don’t worry about it we still have a month to hear back. I have a 4.0 and an 1890 on the SAT, all honors classes with 3 rec letters. Every school has their own schedule.

Thank you so much for replying! I hope that we both hear back soon, this is definitely a stressful experience.

you will get in. my friend with a 19 act and 3.5 gpa got in a week ago to cehd

Thank you! It is helpful to know that they are still sending out acceptance and that they are admitting various ranges of people!

Hi, I’m in a very similar boat. I applied to CEHD back in November and still haven’t heard back yet. I have about the same stats as you with an ACT of 22 and a GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale with AP courses, lots of volunteer hours in leadership, and extra curriculars. I was contacted by the admissions office yesterday via phone call and the lady basically told me that I wasn’t good enough for CEHD and I would most likely be wait listed. I was very taken back by her call since she was a little rude when she was giving me this information. I had only talked to super nice people admissions in the past so this made me a little confused. I hope that you hear back soon with positive results. I’m not sure if this was helpful to you at all but it was interesting to me since our stats fall within the majority of CEHD. I wish you the best of luck and I hope that you find out soon!

Wow I can’t believe that someone would do that, that’s so rude! Try to keep positive though, you never know what can happen. I wish the best of luck to both of us I hope that we get it!

If you don’t mind me asking…
Did you end up getting accepted?

@Napzee I don’t mind you asking, I was waitlisted towards the end of February and will receive an update on April 15th. Due to this I have been considering The University of Cincinnati if I am not ultimately accepted to Minnesota, but if I am pulled off the waitlist I plan to attend.

Just curious, did you get accepted?
