I am starting to get very nervous about the current status of my application. I applied in early November to the CEHD and CLA and have heard nothing. I am noticing a trend of many people getting accepted who applied after me. However, I do realize my stats are lower than others.
-GPA: 3.307
-ACT: 25
-Writing: 9
-MN resident
-Couple AP’s
-Constant rise in GPA form freshman to senior year.
-A ton of extra curricular’s and community involvement.
With these stats in mind, do I still have any hope left? Additionally, if I do when do they typically start to admit the “lower end” students?
write them a letter stating your interest. worked for me. accepted to cla with 3.4 gpa and 26 act
@freakofnature22 - I am in the same situation. Did you send it in an email or actually mail the admissions office a letter? Also, if you don’t mind, what kinds of things did you state in that letter?
Thanks in advance
@arkm110 I sent two two letters. One stating an extenuating circumstance that lead to some poor grades one semester (got F’s and D’s that semester). And the other one was about why I want to go to the U and that if i’m accepted i’ll definitely be going there and how important it is for me. I also sent in some recommendation letters. I called their number 612-625-2008 and asked to be connected to an admissions counselor (the people you first talk to are not counselors). then I asked the counselor for his email so i could send him the materials. hope this helps
