I'm a high school senior, and wondering if I can get into UCI with these stats:

GPA: to date is around 3.8 unweighted.
SAT: 1700
ACT: 23/36
APs: AB Calc last year, got a 1 on AP test :( ,
Psych, Spanish 4, and Statistics this year.

I also have been swimming competitively for 4 years, and also playing Water Polo for 4 years (counting this year). I volunteer at my Church ministry, as well as tutoring younger kids in Math (mostly). Is there anything I need to improve on before I apply to this school, if so, what?

I think you should be ok. Just keep on doing your activities. Btw, AP scores don’t matter to colleges. It doesn’t make or break you when they’re looking at your application. AP scores are beneficial for credits in college and you can get rid of some GE’s probably with your AP scores if you get a 3/4/5.

Try to raise that SAT score. Aim for 1950, but 1850+ should be enough…

Are you involved in any clubs? Any leadership roles? (Team captain?) These will help plenty as well.

Yeah, just up the SAT score, but to be honest, your odds of getting in are pretty high. Then again, UC’s do throw random curveballs sometimes, but just based on a normal outcome and also assuming it’s not going to be that much different from past years, I’d put money on you getting in.
