So I know getting into Princeton is nothing to bank on (to put it lightly). That being said, what are the odds, in your opinion?
GPA: UW 4.0 <–my school is in the country (in a flyover state) and very small, so we have no in person APs, but I did convince the principal to let me take 3 online, plus 2 dual-credit classes. There’s no weighted GPA
Class Rank: 1/54
ACT: 36
ECs:
The boring ones: Cross Country (state winners and runner-ups), Track (have placed at state), Speech (two-event nationals qualifier in the year of corona),
National Honor Society prez, a lot of 4-H (I raise goats, lead a section of an overnight lock-in, and teach/help with some other camps), StuCo, and volunteer teach guitar.
The interesting stuff:
Polyglot: English, French, Spanish, German, and Latin.
Filed a provisional patent and started a licensing biz
My gut feeling is that you have an above-average chance. Unfortunately, your odds of admission are still going to be pretty low, simply because there are so many outstanding candidates in the applicant pool. But your profile is a little different from most applicants, which is a good thing, and if your recs and essay are strong I suspect you’ll at least be given serious consideration.

The two most interesting items were mentioned the least: the patent and the licensing thing. Depending on what those things are and your involvement in them, they could possibly help your app stand out.
I think your app will get serious consideration and depending on many other factors, you might have betters odds than the average applicant.

Clearly you are a competitive applicant and it is very much worth the application.
Most applicants to top schools are very well qualified. Most are rejected.
Definitely check Princeton out as much as you can and find out what it means to attend a highly ranked university. As one example, attending a highly ranked university means that you suddenly become average that day that you arrive, but it also means that you find more people who are like you.
You also need to focus some effort on finding universities that you know you will get accepted to, that you can afford, and that you will be happy to attend. You do need to apply to safeties.
I doubt that the odds are much different from the overall acceptance rate for Princeton. That is actually quite good considering how many places go to legacy students, athletes, and URM students.
Thanks, folks. I got the state school down–full ride and such and it would be epic…but so would Princeton obviously.
