Hi! I'm from So-Cal, and I'm pretty sure that I'm going to really dislike the weather there.. I'll just have to wear 30 layers of leggings + 40 layers of shirts.. LOL.

I've heard lots of good things about NEU's pharmacy program, and since I got a lot of grants/aids/scholarships along with the honors program, I think I'll end up going here. Also, Boston's a really fun and busy city, right? I love city atmospheres, and I would love to meet lots of new people and stuff!

I would just like to know.. Are there lots of Asians(Koreans)? I don't think I can live without Korean food, and... if there aren't any Korean people, I probably can't eat kimchi or ramen and stuff like that... I've also heard there aren't any Korean-styled spas, so that's a big worry for me too :( But I've googled up some things and apparently there are lots of Korean restaurants and markets! :)

I've compared this school with UOP, and I think I might go to NEU after all.. it's better in all aspects all except... that UOP's food is better and cheaper, and it's closer to home.. but I need to learn how to be independent.. although I'd miss my family T_T Now I'm just rambling.

Anyways, what do you think the pros/cons of this school are? Did you meet lots of new people, and make lots of friends? How harsh is their pharmacy program?

Please tell me! :) Thank you!

Congrats! I think you will enjoy Boston. There are parts of Boston with a ton of Asians, and while I don’t know about Koreans in particular, I’m sure there are many. I’ve never heard of a Korean spa, but I just went to a Korean restaurant the other day. Don’t worry; I think you’re fretting over nothing if you’re worried about whether Boston has Korean spas or not. Moving to a different place is all about integrating yourself with a different culture and lifestyle, and you’ll meet tons of new people. Northeastern is a very, very diverse school. While you will certainly have an abundance of Asians to become friends with, it’s always great to get out of your comfort zone and meet people from other backgrounds!

Boston’s weather has been amazing this year. Barely any snow. But if next year is normal, then it’ll get quite cold, but you won’t die, don’t worry haha. It’d be a refreshing change, as well as a great experience, if you move to Boston. I know it.

Good luck with your decision! :)

There are a F***load of asians here (myself included). It’s Boston. You’ve got tons of asians from MIT/Harvard/BU nearby, too. Don’t forget Chinatown, it’s not just chinese people.

And if you want to meet koreans just go to the pool tables in curry student center. They’re ALWAYS there. And they’re ungodly at pool.

Either that or in front of the library, chain smoking.

@thisconfidential: Thank you for the advice! I was considering to go or not to go… and I got into UOP’s 5 year pharmacy program so I’ve been conflicted too…
@yoonalover: hahaha snsd? xD and moooo i don’t like smokers… err. Okay, I won’t have to worry about being ethnically isolated, then! xD

yup

and there’s the asian american center within walking distance from the freshman dorms (unless you’re in IV, but if you’re in IV everything’s far)
