<p>i am awaiting a new pin to complete my fafsa. I did talk with a financial aid advisor at the school i just transferred and basically they cannot help, i would have to apply for pell grant and cal grant, there is no financial aid through the school. I have received a pell grant before to pay for community college and the advisor told me i might have been issued a cal grant as well that might be on “reserve” once i transfer to a 4yr university. I called cal grant to ask and unfortunately i wasn’t qualified for cal grant (i was told because of the point system, i asked if that was the gpa and the representative said no,i guess my parents income was high)</p>
<p>Since the economy has been getting from bad to worst my parents’ work and income has also declined (they are self employed) and i was hoping since they filed less income this year i could meet the minimum income requirements.</p>
<p>I try to avoid getting loans since the school’s tuition is high and i will have a hard time paying it back. But that might be my only option</p>
<p>Does anyone happen to know if i was to complete one semester at my new school if the cal grant would consider that gpa for next time i applied or would they consider my gpa from junior college?</p>
