Anyone know whats the min Ethernet cable length I could get away with having? I’m in a double if it matters. I saw the site said 25 ft, but that seems ridiculously overkill…I have an 8 ft cable.

8 ft should be okay. I personally liked having a long ethernet cable. It’s a big plus if you like studying in the lounge, I could easily move away from annoying people without having to unplug my ethernet cord.

Hopefully your area will have a wireless router/access point nearby. If not, you may want to invest in one. If you have no idea on how to set one up, bring it down to an RCA (like me!) and we can configure it for you =]

I would recommend a 14 ft ethernet cable in the off-chance that your port requires you to snake the cable around your room. Also, you may want to purchase an additional cord so you can leave one permanently plugged in your room (if the jack is below your bed, it will be quite annoying having to reach under there every time you want to use the cord)

Haha, thanks. I’m just going to be making it as simple as possible.

Anyone else plan on bringing dress clothes + a tie? Think there’ll be any reason to have them?

I brought a tie in case I get a formal dinner date :)

Or an interview :)

And also, there’s a freshmen winter formal called a dormal (dorm formal). But that’s in February, so in case you don’t bring a tie, you can pack it winter break.
