I’m trying to get a lot of stuff out of the way so I don’t have a super stressful junior year. Not that that can be avoided.

So what I’ve seen in this thread is this: none of you guys are going to actually have fun over the summer.

most of the kids here are overachievers with big ambitions, we can have fun when we’re done with accomplishing our goals in life. that or when we get super rich which ever comes first

Right. Have fun after you’ve wasted the best years of your life working to achieve something that won’t last forever. I get wanting to excel… but geez. You don’t get “summer breaks” in life all that often! I can’t see how any of you are going to truly enjoy life without enjoying yourself first.

-Guitar lessons
-Teach my friend guitar
-Write songs
-Volunteer work (I’m seriously lacking in this… I have like 15 hours and I’m going to be a senior, lol)
-Work at a law firm
-Check out William and Mary and possibly some colleges in Tennessee
-Week at the beach =D

^Now that is a summer break!

^^^Because I listed big goals like, oh, I don’t know, going shopping???

enjoying life is arbitrary and it can mean something different to different people. I tend to think that life would be more enjoyable if you had a good income, a nice place, and a car, but i am a materialist. The few years i spend studying math (i dont think it’s that un-enjoyable) will be worth it for a lifetime of security, and maybe even contributing something to human knowledge if i end up in research for a career

I am taking a class at UCLA on stem cells, trying to get a job (going in for an interview monday), studying for the sat I since first time i didnt do as well as i could have, and later getting started on college aps. If I loose some weight allong the way as well that would be awesome

^^^^^^I said get laid. That in itself makes up for the rest of my nerdy crap.
