it seems like u love GROTON blue!

yeah but I probably won’t get in. I’ll be very happy to get in anywhere (but more so Groton  )

What did you rank in the end Lindha

Oh I know that this thread mainly applies to people who applied for the 2010-2011 year, but tonight I will be praying for my friend to get into Choate!
And everyone else that I met on CC to get into their dream schools as well

As a note for the novel convo, Anthem by Ayn Rand is a great book if you liked Fahrenheit 451 and other novels of the sort. And it’s a fairly quick read, too, since it’s pretty short.

Blue my rank was EXETER
DEERFIELD
GROTON
HOTCHKISS
They r all great schools so it doesnt really matter
I also applied to SPS, Mercersburg, Hill etc…

Anthem was really interesting…have any of you read The Catcher in the Rye? How many times?

I’ve read The Catcher in the Rye twice. I’m going to go reread it soon. you?

Yeah…one of my favorite books ever. Currently reading “Tell No One”, “My Brother Sam is Dead”, and “Boot Camp”.

I kinda love Jane Austen, Suzanne Collins, and Scott Westerfeld

So I just read The Hunger Games after I saw it mentioned here. To say “great, great, great book!” would be an understatement… seriously. Suzanne Collins is a genius!!
Also, I’m looking for book recommendations. What are your most favorite books?

To answer the original poster’s question, I had a music concert today and I have a placement test for one of my subjects tommorrow…I’m glad we don’t have to study.
The Catcher and the Rye was okay, but I just read it because I was bored, so I didn’t really think really hard about the novel

Cormac McCarthy has the most beautiful writing of anything I’ve ever read.
Try The Road, it’s really intense and dark and depressing but its so well written and hopeful.

@gingergirl, I love the Uglies series by Scott Westerfield!

I’m going to be ASLEEP!! (hopefully)… it makes the hours pass by faster. Plus i have exams tomorrow :(

uglies is amazing, but the 4th book was intensely disappointing :frowning: just didn’t like it. at all.

WOOT GO GOSSIP GIRL
