Really, though, I'd just like to know how the OP is taking 21 credits + auditing four other classes. That sounds like death to me, unless all those "research" courses are just getting credit for independent research projects or being a research assistant or something.

Yep, research is RA credit. I'm applying to Clinical/Counseling Psych programs next year, so I need a lot of research, and the amount of work I take on often appalls/amazes people. What branch of psych are you in?

It doesn't actually seem that bad... Isn't it just 14 credits (minus intersession and one-time weekend stuff), your RA positions and a couple of classes you are auditing? I don't want to diminish your accomplishments, but auditing a class is a lot less stressful than taking it for credit. You don't have to cram for tests, and regularly scheduled times during the day usually feel like less work than half that time's worth of homework, at least to me.

Oh see, that's what I thought :D That makes it seem much more realistic.

I'm in social psychology. My department (Columbia psych) requires us all to take classes in all of the areas though, so we are well-rounded psychologists, so I had to take cognitive neuroscience last semester and am going to be taking a cognition seminar this semester.

Good luck with your clinical/counseling apps; the clinical application process can be vicious but you seem to be up for it!

Not auditing--just not getting credit. I'm doing all the work, just not getting a grade (to circumvent my university's credit cap). Also, I'm preparing a second thesis (other than the one I'm getting credit for), doing a clinical internship, teaching a class (paid!), and doing additional (paid) research work. That plus stuff for my sorority and other leadership positions in campus clubs. Trust me, I'd do more if I could!

julliet, thanks--I hope I'm up to it! I'm going into it with the full (yet depressing) knowledge that I stand a good chance of getting rejected everywhere. :( I'm only applying to programs that are good research matches with my previous work, though, so I'm hoping that will help... Congrats on surviving the process yourself, btw!

AUlostchick, Norwegian is very interesting. =] It's a bit too similar to German and English, but that's also one of the perks of it. Depending on when I study abroad and what I major in though, I don't think I'll be able to continue beyond three semesters of study, but eh. Self studying's always an option.
