Since we just lost all FA, I need a get rich quick scheme…anyone???
If anyone thinks of anything, forget @buuzn03. PM me first.
Oh my. So sorry, @buuzn03. Are you going to try to appeal and explain the circumstances?
@twinsmama what do you mean? We are in different parts of the country…lets team up and potentially multiply our returns!!! Soon, we can go global! @doschicos we had a very long talk with DOFA. It wasn’t the new business as much as us pulling Buuznkid2 from private school…we are sunk for this year, but it will also be her last year at the GT school…so we were considering having to revisit LDS for her or possibly even JBS (I have NO IDEA how that’d be affordable so probably is a very remote chance). We were encouraged to reapply next year as we were truly borderline. So, we will scramble this year and come up with strategy for next (the business reorganization has already been completed).
Thanks for your support, guys!
I have no advice for you, @buuzn03 , but am sending you an enormous virtual hug
Thank you @CaliMex !
Yes @buuzn03 let’s go global! I apologize for the poor attempt at humor, and I hope everything works out for your family!!
@twinsmama it is usually lost on written communications like CC, but I happen to have the driest, most sarcastic humor available…we are good!
Hugs @buuzn03 - best of luck.
So sorry to hear @buuzn03 and I hope it all works out.
Thank you! We will figure out a way to make it work! Now that the sting is over, I’m in plan/strategy mode.
Welcome to Rice or beans club.
We are down to one car, 2000 Odyssey with 190K miles. We are keeping it as long as it is feasible, i.e. until DH is able to find parts in junkyard, which is already getting difficult.
We were sad to part with our two other old cars last summer, 1996 Camry with 300K miles and 2000 Camry with 190K miles, as the 1000-mile move involving three-car caravan did not sound wise.
So…in our recent turn of events, we looked at many of the options mentioned. We learned we can’t downsize…in our market (voted the hottest in the US currently) there are 7 homes available for less than what we paid for our house (not to mention we locked in a freakish low interest rate)…one of those homes was in the crack neighborhood and the other was a mobile home for $300,000. So that idea is out. Neither of us would fare better switching cars…we will hold on to those…our Friday pizza nights are actually the cheapest meal we have, yet the only eating out, except for special occasions (which normally end up at the burger joint for $25). Everywhere we look to trim only gains us a few hundred dollars for the entire year. (The FA director actually did say we lived extremely modestly, but I thought he was just being polite) so…I was down to selling my body…but unfortunately, at my age, despite a huge marketing campaign has come up unsurprisingly empty…so I am now taking applications for a sugar daddy!! And don’t worry, because DH is looking for the same in a lady…Daddy Warbucks just needs to come to Texas. =))
You’re thinking too big. Why sell your whole body, when just a kidney might do?
@vwlizard because the kidney will only last one year…I may need 3 !!!
My new strategy - HGTV Dream Home Sweepstakes.
I’m pretty sure BS tuition is the reason human bodies have MANY redundant parts.
@vwlizard the hgtv dream home has been mine since they started it years ago. I have hit yet unfortunately…
"in our market (voted the hottest in the US currently) there are 7 homes available for less than what we paid for our house "
Rather than reducing costs, any way to increase income by taking advantage of that hot real estate market? I have several extended family members who cover their entire mortgages via airbnb hosting.
@doschicos we’ve actually thought about long term rental, but we’d need a place to stay…other than oil riggers though, no one wants to come to our town, especially not to visit!!!
