go w/ RIT, with a program specializing in what you want!

for international relations…DC is good. So if you got into GWU..go there! unless money for you is an issue.

Deciding between: Pretty much Hopkins, Wellesley, Cornell

Leaning towards: Wellesley or Cornell

I have no idea what I’m going to be studying and money isn’t an issue.
I like Wellesley because it is small and near Boston, but I like Cornell because it has a lot of clubs and activities and things.

Accepted:
Boston College (no financial aid)
SUNY Binghamton
Emory (they are very slow with my aid package, so will most likely not go)
GWU Honors
Macaulay Honors at Baruch (CUNY Honors)

Waitlisted:
Cornell (accepted waitlist)
CMU (did not accept)

Rejected:
Dartmouth
Brown
Columbia
Georgetown
NYU Stern
Northwestern

Deciding between: GWU honors (Elliott School) or Macaulay Honors at Baruch

Leaning towards: I’ve been flipflopping for a month now. They both have their ups and downs. I want to stay in NYC because I have so much stuff going around here. But Baruch is a commuter school while GWU has dorms in Wash DC. Money is not an issue at both schools as Macaulay has free tuition, and my aid at GWU covers the tuition.

Wow, everyone applied to and was accepted into such prestigious schools compared to the ones I applied to. I just dont really have the funds to go to private schools or out-of-state so I’m transferring from SRJC to the good ol’ CSU system.

Accepted:
CSU Chico
CSU Long Beach
CSU San Marcos
CSU Sacramento
CSU Fullerton
CSU Channel Islands
Sonoma State University

Rejected/Waitlisted: none

Deciding between: I have narrowed it down to Long Beach and Chico. I am completely stuck in my decision because they both have their pros and cons. I am majoring in communications, and want to become an event coordinator. I have lived in nor-cal all my life and have always wanted to live in so-cal, but it is quite a bit more expensive than chico. I know about Chico’s “party school” rep, and really dont mind because I will be living with my boyfriend who doesnt go to college, and I’m not much of a “let’s get hammer slammered and party all the time person.” He is favoring Chico because it is in nor-cal, but I dont see myself gaining much experience in my field up there. Both colleges are so different in every way, and I really need help!

Any advice from people who know about the two areas or just opinions on the matter would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

Nickel Xenon: As someone who lives in Dallas, I encourage you to stay very far away. No matter what magazines say, there is nothing to do in Dallas that will enrich your education; there is only shopping and chain restaurants. Seriously. BU has more prestige than UDallas, and Boston is just overall a cooler place. If I were in your situation, I would choose BU in a heartbeat.

UT Austin (Communications)

Deciding Between:
UChicago and Gtown SFS

Leaning Towards: Gtown SFS for International Politics. I know the SFS in D.C. is pretty much an unbeatable combination, but I LOVE Chicago’s core curriculum, as well as the school’s emphasis on learning for learning’s sake (I’ve heard Gtown is very pre-professional). However, I’m very intimidated by Chicago’s workload, and I don’t deal well with cold weather.

Acceptances
Northwestern
Wash U St Louis
Rutgers Honors (w/ Scholarship)

Waitlists
Hopkins
UChicago

Rejections
None :)

Deciding Between: Northwestern and Rutgers Honors

Leaning Towards: Rutgers Honors b/c I think I stand to be the most successful there. Since I’m planning on doing pre-med, I need a high GPA, which will be possible at Rutgers. I’d be happy at either school – so the possibility of getting a higher GPA at rutgers tips the scale.

Deciding between: Seattle U, Tulane, Whitman, and UCSB.

Leaning towards: Tulane or SU
I’m paying roughly the same for both schools, so money isn’t a big issue. Want to major in IR.

Tulane pros: solid national reputation, strong in IR, new orleans, nice weather, less debt at graduation
Tulane cons: a bit of a party school?, farther from home, less diversity

SU pros: big IR program, big choral program, seattle, job/internship opportunities, diversity
SU cons: more regional appeal, depressing weather, more debt at graduation,
academics not as strong?

any advice would be much appreciated :)

Acceptances: Baruch
Rejections:None

Deciding between: Stay at Polytechnic University (merging with NYU) or going to baruch (lose a year)for Finance to hopefully land a front-mid office type job
