What are your safety schools?

NYU is my top choice. But all the other schools I like are either on caliber with NYU or an Ivy. So maybe you guys can give me some ideas.

I guess it varies with the caliber of the student, but my safeties include a state school (UConn) and some lower Tier 1/higher Tier 2 schools such as BC.

well i got into University of Missouri School of Journalism (#1 in the Nation)
I'm pretty sure I'll get into American University as well

I got into Tulane already and it was my safety. You should check it out.
Another one of my safeties is Boston Univ.

I am applying to Emerson EA and if I don't get into NYU, I'm applying ED II to Stevens Institute of Technology

I applied to like 5 safeties. I felt that in the oh so terrible case that NYU doesnt take me, I want some options. I got in to Indiana University-Bloomington.

If you are looking for a school like NYU, but that is easier to get in to, Look at BU and GW.

I applied to Emerson early action as a back-up as well, I'm pretty confident that I can get in because my stats are all above-average for Emerson. If all else fails, then I'll apply to BU which is like the unofficial NYU Rejects school. I'd be happy at all three schools, just extremely estatic at NYU. :)

My absolute absolute absolute backup is CUNY Hunter.

i have "alternative" schools that are equally as hard or more, and then i have safety

alternative: ucla, berkeley, columbia, brown

in between? BU, fordham, hofstra, new school

safety: ucsc, university of washington, uo

alternative: barnard(love), uva, unc, umich, uc sandiego
safety(I think): ucdavis, cannadian universities- montreal, waterloo.

safety: BU

indiana bloomington, belmont, chapman, case western, and umich

Alternatives: Vassar (my second choice, applying ED2 if I don't get into NYU), Tufts, George Washington
Lower Matches/Safeties: Fordham, Drew, Emerson, Eugene Lang (New School), Marymount Manhattan

i got into indiana bloomingfield kelley school of business and umich LSA
so those two colleges i guess
but i REALLY want to get into preadmit for Ross but I have to wait on that until march

I got in to Kelley too...

When did you hear from UMich? I had everything in by the second week of august, and they still haven't gotten back to me.

oooo
ummm i applied early september and heard back on halloween

Hey! Me too for UMich. But because I'm in-state, I guess UMich and MSU weren't too hard for me to get into.

I'm applying to UMiami as a safety. I think I'd love to be in Florida after this crazy awful (COLD) weather in Michigan.

I am quite jealous hater or the SAT.

Roserows- UMiami is nice. (I actually got the UMiami book award.) It is in coral gables, which is gorgeous, but getting around is difficult. I would have applied, but it is way too close to home for me. And it doesn't meet my criteria, I only applied to schools in blue states north or the mason-dixon line.

ooo
i was oos...nj
still waiting on ross though
does anyone know when those decisions come out?
