Besides the obvious law school route?

I'm about to be a third year...and I'm worried that if I choose not to apply to law school, there will be very few options out there for me.

Thanks.

[What can you do with a political science degree? - Yahoo! Answers](http://■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/question/index?qid=20080929172310AAHiO6T)

Anything. A polisci degree (not any other degree, for that matter) pigeonhole you into a select career path.

marketing, non-profit organization, teaching, some sort of consulting, government work, paralegal. Google it, maybe you will find a cool little niche to apply your degree too

I’m also a polisci major. I’m going into my 2nd year. I’ve been doing a bit of research on grads (not sure if I want to go to law school) and most schools in CA (all UC’s) only seem to offer Phd’s not MA’s. If I go to graduate school do I need to get my Phd or will a master’s degree help me further my knowledge and get a better career?
Thanks

A Masters or Ph.D. in PoliSci really only open up academic jobs (research assistant/associate, professor at the doctoral level) or jobs in think tanks (think Brookings, RAND, etc.).

Both are academic degrees–not professional degrees. You’re only narrowing the jobs you can get by over-specializing, and sometimes (especially in the social sciences), this is not a good thing unless you want to spend the rest of your life in academia.

And a quick Google search will net you this website that lists all the schools that offer graduate degrees in PoliSci (and you can choose to only list either Masters or Doctoral):
