Political Science major?

What can I do with a political science degree, assuming that I'm not going to law school?

Hmmmmm......thats a toughie. Considering most PS major (including myself) are planning to go to law school. Ask an advisor or others in your major.

Google on "political science major." You will find descriptions such as this one: http://www.eiu.edu/~polisci/career.htm

I guess the other big career path for political science is government or IR. I'm not a poli. sci. major but I will be in a masters program in IR next year and currently intern at a think tank in DC and in both cases, many of my colleagues are or were poli. sci. majors.

I'm a poli sci major, and I want to become a campaign advisor for politicians. This is probably a pretty specific career goal, but I really love the political process, I'd also love to work within an administration if it fit with my values. My other thought is actually to become a police officer, but that's a personal thing, not anything to do with my major.

I'm majoring in poli sci and I want to be a political journalist. You would be suprised, but many journalists actually have political science degrees. For example, Anderson Cooper.
