D. and I visited W & L last week, and, as we both anticipated, she fell in love with the school. W & L is among a list of "similar" schools she is considering in the south (U. of Richmond, Wake, Furman, Sewanee, Davidson) and north (Colgate, Bucknell, Gettysburg, Lafayette), but, from all we read, W & L clearly will be the hardest for her to get into. There are many things about W & L that set it apart for her (Journalism/PreLaw major, Honor Code that has teeth, opps. for study abroad, Chi O house - she's my legacy, Mock Trial team, Mock Convention, and academic calendar). Any suggestions about what she can do to increase her chances for admission (beyond the usual "get great grades, high SAT scores, and take on leadership positions in a few ECs she's shown a commitment to")? Since she's a Jr., she still has time to put any suggestions into practice. Many thanks from both of us.

haha her list is almost identical to mine. id also be looking for this advice, though, im just a junior too
