What Can You Tell Me About American University?

it means I am not good enough to transfer to another university or to any university at all? I see. Thank you.

I am going to give up at this time. Thank you all for your postings. Goodbye

I believe only the mods can close a thread, sorry. There’s no need to get all defensive and huffy just because you don’t like someone’s opinion. I and others here are trying to help you. No one said you couldn’t transfer to any university. However, your credentials mean that the schools you named are reaches. Hopefully UMD will come through for you, but if you are determined to leave your current school, you should have some realistic additional options–matches and safeties–in your sites. Best of luck in your endeavors.

Honestly, I find it unbelievable that you passed a college level English course. I’m not trying to be rude but I can barely grasp what you are saying. Are you currently attending a community college? I would advise you to speak with a transfer counselor at your institution and ask his opinion. I’m sure he would better be able to help you decide what path you should take. Good luck.

OP, the posters here are trying to help you.

As I asked in my post above, if you were a native English speaker vs. being foreign born, it would help explain your irregular syntax and grammar-- because it is usually assumed that a journalist has excellent writing skills.

You are free to apply to any schools that interest you, of course. We are trying to understand what you are seeking but can’t figure it out from what you have given us. What constitutes a “real” school? What environment are you seeking? What are your geographical limitations? Your geographical preferences? Your financial limitations? What restrictions, if any, are your parents placing on your college search?

And, of course, what you bring to the process is also important. Your grades, scores, curriculum, professional accomplishments, will all influence your success in applying to other schools.

All of us here are happy to help you. But helping you entails giving you honest advice so that your applications will be successful.

And none of us have been able to figure out why American is of interest to you since the school does not seem to fit your parameters at all, academically (too much of a reach for you at this time) or in fit (as you are seeking things that American is not).
