What career do you guys want to pursue?

This is a straightforward thread. What careers are appealing to the high achieving CC community?

I really don’t know

I feel like I want to be a teacher at a Boarding school and coach, but I feel like I will end up on Wall Street in the family business

Hcos12893,
I really don’t know now either but I am interested in law. Lol my “family business” is editing french textbooks.

Rocket Scientist looking to find ways for interplanetary space travel, finding alien life forms on other planets. :)

I wonder if your career choices will change after you go to boarding school. Mine did, I used to want to be an engineer, and after going to Exeter, I realized that 1) I only liked math and science because I’m good at it, and 2) I’m not nearly as good at math and science than some people I know and that I would like to be. The thing about a challenging boarding school (at least for me) is that you find what you would rather do in place of sleeping, or hanging out with friends, or slacking off. There are some things that you’ll discover that under immense time constraints, you’d rather do more than anything else (not all the time of course, sleeping and friends are very important!). For example, I once wrote an assignment six times before finally being satisfied with one (and this is with turning it in, and writing another one, and turning it in again, etc…) and we didn’t even get grades on essays so it’s not like it was the letter that I was striving for. Hopefully most of you will discover that you like the same things that you once thought you liked (and for those of you who’ve already spent some time in bs, did you have a similar experience?)

I’m interested in Law, my aunt’s a judge and she’s my favorite, so I’m going to likely follow in her footsteps. Also, I sort of want to be an author or editor.

Something in politics or law… I’m not sure yet!

I want to be a pediatric oncologist surgeon :)

Business, definitely!

I really would love to be a business tycoon, but I’m not completely set on it just yet. There are just so many AMAZING things to learn! Architecture astounds me. Writing is music in its own form. The news business has fascinated me ever since I toured the CNN headquarters. Politics also interests me because I believe that the world needs some legitimate reform.

However, since my motto for life seems to be all about efficiency and progress, I guess I’m leaning towards business.

I have two majors in mind. Computer Science and Physics. If i major in Computer Science then i want to become a Network Security Specialist or Network Systems Engineer. (cisco certified). If I major in Physics, i want to become a nuclear physicist, I also wouldnt mind becoming a particle physicist

I think I want to do something in the medical field, like genetics, nervous system, or biomedical engineering :D

I want to join the CIA  I have big goals but if I can’t make it I would like to do something with acting or art or maybe an author

Medicine, Engineering, Economics, Philosophy, or Environmental Science

One of these or a combo of a couple of them. (Biomedical Ethics, Environmental Engineering, Biological Engineering, etc.)

^^ My mom took an ethics class online and she said it was the most interesting class she ever had!

I seem to be one of the few not interested in anything…academic?

I want to be a film director :)

I want to be a cardiothoracic surgeon

i want to do business or law. but if i do business i dont want to do finance because my dad does that and its too hectic for me.

I’d like to be either a medical researcher, a lawyer, or some kind of doctor.

A moose hunter in Alaska, hopefully it will lead me to my goal of becoming the President. :D
