Let's say I have applied to selective schools as a HS senior and didn't get admission. I join college which accepts me.
After a year when you seek transfer to the same colleges who denied you a year ago. What's going to change? Your stats, EC upto high school is going to be same. Only thing that will change is activities during College Freshman and Grades. Right? So when someone is getting transfer, is that solely based on college Freshman year? How does this work?

you should move this to the Transfer sub-thread section. You may get in if you re-apply if you gpa is better than HS and if you do something with your time like a job or volunteer and if you get on thepresident’s list and stuff. This thread was confusing though…not sure if I interpreted it right.

When you apply as a soph transfer, you will only have completed 1 sem/qt of college, and at most schools will see an additional unofficial mid-term grade report. So the decision will still be heavily weighted on your HS record (gpa & rigor) and test scores. Any accomplishments the second half of sr year and over the summer will also be considered. As a jr transfer, your college record will count more than what you did in HS.
