really? sounds like my type of english class (not really my favorite subject though i seem to do well in it). who was you teacher.

ASMAJ, did you have to take 2210 for the biochem major?

Two semesters of english class, they dont specify which one like engineering.

Okay Im still trying to figure this out. They told me at preview that I dont need to take 1101 because of my SAT score.

I didnt pass Language but I am pretty sure I got at least a 3 or 4 on the Lit. I was just planning on taking an English course for Spring. What should I take?

In the print out the College of Education gave during preview it just says to take a Composition or Literature course GE-C.

Any class under C will satisfy you C requirement. Generally an education major will take one under the english, honors (if honors), or writing program.

so do we need to know ahead of time what classes we want to register for at preview?

^^ No, you can browse if you want, but I just figured it out there. And then actually changed two of them before the semester began. What you register for at Preview is not binding.

does any body know how easy/harder human sexuality and culture is? How is precal trig at UF compared to high school trig? what happens in the first year florida class and how easy or hard is it?

A couple of my friends have taken Human Sex and said it was fairly easy and very interesting. Two of them had the old lady professor, and then one of them had the new guy who was teaching it and according to ratemyprofessor.com, he is a decent professor and the class isn't that bad. With a bit of effort and some studying, I'm sure you can get an "A". I took MAC1147 and didn't think it was the most difficult thing ever. I know a lot of people were not doing that well in that class, but I did take PreCal in highschool and two years of calculus, but decided to take MAC1147 to refine my skills. I got an "A" in the class but I did study a lot. My lecturer was Professor Williamson and she has a thick accent and has her way of solving problems [different from how I was taught] but it basically was a refresher for me. It's not super easy but it is not ridiculously hard. First Year Florida is basically a class that gives you too much work for only being 1 credit. It's definately an easy "A." There are reaction papers you have to do, speakers you have to see, they bring in many campus resources to class, etc. At the end you have a big portfolio due with pictures of campus, etc. It basically is just giving you an opportunity to get to know UF and all it has to offer but the work is tedious and boring.

I thought human sex and culture would be an easy gen ed class does it really require some effort?

^Yes, I wouldn't call human sex an easy A. You have to write an equivalent of 6,000 words, and it will take time to write you report.

hi! I'm new to this site and was just wondering what (if anything) you've heard about the following classes and professors:

Summer:
INR 2001- International Relations- Nolan
ANT 2410- Cultural Anthropology- Daugaard-Hansen

Fall:
CPO 2001- COMPARATIVE POLITICS- M'cormack
STA 2023- INTRO TO STATISTICS 1 (online) - Mocko
POS 2041- AMERICAN FEDERAL GOVT- Hendershot
SPN 2201- INTERMED SPANISH 2

o and I'm majoring in poli sci, minoring in Spanish, and am pre-law. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I took STA2023 but when Professor Yeslicay was teaching it. I've heard better things about Mocko, though. It really isn't that bad of a class. I'm more of a Pre-Cal/Calculus person, so it was totally different form of math for me. You definitely need to study and I'm sure you can pull of the "A." Also, make sure you go to the Stats Labs every week! They really help your grade and your TA usually walks you through each Lab.

Cultural Anthropology should be fun, as most of the upper level antro class are. General Anthropology is boring.

Can anyone list some easy diversity/international classes they offer over Summer B to that will get rid of a gen ed requirement?

MUL2010 Intro To Music Literature
EEX3312 Exceptional People

how about man's food (if its open for summer)

How is International relations? I was going to take it in Fall but it wasnt open so I was thinking of taking it during the Spring term for that diversity credit.
