What classes should I take senior year?

I’m applying to Georgia Tech and UGA for their business schools. I’m having trouble though formulating my elective classes. I’m on a 4 x 4 block schedule, and this is how my schedule looks like right now:

Mentorship (doing it for a letter of recommendation from a teacher)
Honors Pre-Calculus
AP Physics
AP Literature

Honors Calculus
Engineering III (Highest level, I complete pathway therefore receive a cord for graduation)
AP Psychology
AP U.S. Government and Politics

I’m however thinking about laying off Engineering III… not to mention I don’t want to become an engineer… I would not complete the pathway and instead put in a online class of AP Macroeconomics (I took AP Microeconomics, but we don’t have a AP Macroeconomics teacher)

My question is what looks better for the intended major I’m applying for: Business Administration/Finance… The schedule that I have layed out uptop or the one with the online class of AP Macroeconomics? Do online classes diminish (look bad) on your transcript?

P.S.1.) I think you can also get a letter of recommendation from my teacher for tutoring after school hours, but that’s harder for me because of the transportation home… Feel free to make any other recommendations on removing or adding classes…

P.S.2.) Other AP classes I’ve taken are: AP English Language and Composition, AP Microeconomics, AP Statistics, & AP United States History

Bump

You may get more answers if this was in the High school subforum.

I would ditch Engineering 3 for AP Econ…or could you take it dual enrollment?
Have you gotten to a 4th level of a foreign language?

Replace Engineering 3 with AP Macro and AP psych with a foreign language (unless you already completed level 4).

The only question I have is how many other classes besides Engineering 1 and 2 did you take to complete that pathway. I know it doesn’t mean much outside of your own school area but if you put did you put in a lot of time that you would like to follow through and finish?

Otherwise I agree with the suggestions. Do you have a dual enrollment option? My daughter took a dual enrollment finance class to help her decide if she was interested in finance as a double major to go with accounting which she knew she wanted. Another class she took in high school that doesn’t go with her current accounting/finance majors but was a fun way to explore business was entrepreneurship.

Well Engineering I was fun because we were drafting projects on paper but with Engineering II, half of the time spent in the class was on Solidworks which was hell now that I think about it…

On the other hand, @momtogirls2 , consider the “fallacy of sunk costs”. If you hate something, then don’t continue with it just because you sunk time/effort into it if you wont’ get anything out of it.

I agree @bopper but I also know that some students feel very disappointed if they don’t finish or want the special recognition for finishing. Since it sounds like this isn’t the case then there is nothing wrong with taking a different class.

Do you have the option of dual enrollment and seeing if what business classes are available? My daughter took an intro finance class through dual enrollment, not for transfer credit but to see if she was interested in it enough to do it as a double major (she loved it and is now a college freshman doing accounting/finance) Entrepreneurship was a fun overall business class.

Well no, it would be too complicated getting transported to a nearby college/university. At this point, I believe I will be doing GVA: AP Macroeconomics.

Do you guys think this schedule is doable on a 4 x 4 block?
AP Physics
Accelerated Pre-Calculus (S1)
AP Literature
Calculus (S2)
AP U.S. Government & Politics
AP Psychology
GVA: AP Macroeconomics
Mentorship

Other AP classes I’ve taken are: AP English Language and Composition, AP Microeconomics, AP Statistics, & AP United States History

MAJOR: BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION… i.e. Finance

UWGPA: 3.95
WGPA: 4.3
CR: 30/600

Yes, it’s good.

what do you do in a mentorship class? It sounds fine - I just don’t know what that is.

Basically in mentorship you have two options- become an office aid or become a tutor for a teacher during their class. As a tutor, you would help teachers grade stuff, carry out functions such as copying papers… etc. Most teachers at my school in addition to having their class as a way to get a letter of recommendation request that we help them additionally either outside or during school (that class being the way during school) for a semester. Since I don’t have a car yet and getting my parents to drive me to school is limited as it is, therefore I must use it wisely, I believe that that option is the best circumstance.

okay we have that but don’t call it anything like that and it isn’t needed to get a letter of recommendation for any teacher.
