I am currently registering for summer school classes right now. I go to a community college in Southern California, and I was wondering what classes I should take in order to give myself a competitive chance of getting into USC. Would Chemistry be a good choice? All the Calculus classes are full. I have already taken ACCT 1A and 1B, and Econ 1A and 1B, as well as Statistics. What other classes should I take? I have taken 21 credits as of right now, and I am planning on taking about 14 units this summer. Will 35 units be a competitive amount for year #1? Thank you!

ASK USC–my D emailed the USC counselor that was assigned to transfers in our area & directly asked what courses would transfer. She chose courses on that basis. If you’re a CA resident, it’s even easier, since USC is quite familiar with their CC courses.

Absolutely just try to take as many classes to know out required GE’s, math, writing, and other lower level requirements to the major you want as possible.
