when i was little, i had a Berkeley obsession, cause my dad went there & he was all like ‘it’s the best school there is;plus, because i went there, u have a better shot of getting in’

then i grew up & realized that UCs don’t even look at legacy. THEN i realized that…i don’t really even like Berkeley all that much. too…tech-y : /

right now i’m going through a bit of a Wesleyan/Brown obsession. flexible curriculums <33
oh & i love BU.
Vassar is gorgeous.
NYU is just awesome.
damn you amazing colleges for causing my obsessions :/

NYU has one of the worst college “campuses” (if you can even call it a campus) known to man. My friend, who graduated last year, attends NYU on a full theatre scholarship and hates it.

Princeton! I love all the schools I’m applying to and have extra soft spots for Brown and Pomona (LOVE the Pomona love in this thread btw :D) but whenever I go onto the Princeton website just for fun (hopefully I’m not the only one who does that) I always remember why I fell in love with it in the first place.

Smith:
–Beautiful campus
–Open curriculum!
–Great dorms–they’re houses!
–Awesome alumnae network
–I don’t think you have to be on campus during the January term, which is pretty cool

WPI
–Fantastic extracurricular music program
–Pretty smart kids
–Quarter system, which means you get to get through classes you hate quickly
–Diverse course catalogue
–You get out earlier in the year (not a crucial point, but a nice bonus)

I have calm down about Michigan State University speaking obsession wise, but it’s still my top choice. Though I would say I find myself obsessed with Michigan State University campus when comparing it to other schools. Say Boston University, when I found it the campus wasn’t like Michigan State University my consideration to attend there dramitically decreased. Same for University of Minnesota- Twin Cities, for most of their campus now seem to be cluster, and beginning to get lost within the city ( not an ideal campus). I like how Michigan State University campus is ( all the nature, landscape etc…), with a college town across the street.
School choices:

Just recently, I’ve fallen in love with Fordham.

-It’s not totally unattainable. I like to think I have a pretty decent shot at acceptance.
-The Rose Hill campus is GORGEOUS. It’s in the city, but it’s green… best of both worlds.
-I’d be living on campus, but still close enough to home that my family won’t be angry with me and homesickness wouldn’t be an issue.
-Awesome academics! A good variety of programs, which is a plus for me, the undecided one.
-A pretty bright student body.
-Close to everything.
-10 mintues from Yankee Stadium. It doesn’t get much better than that. =)

I’ve got such a crush on Swarthmore but I’m so afraid of the rejection…
but it seems to have a really great community of students and professors, and I’m definitely going to go for it even if there’s an 82% chance I’ll be kicked to the curb.

UBC–I was pretty sure I would accept Caltech’s offer two years ago—then I decided I wanted to leave home and went to the University of Washington–beautiful…and then I visited Vancouver BC…

have you ever been to Vancouver BC???

UBC is so unbelievably beautiful it’s actually ridiculous—

Very true, pre-application my obsession was Georgetown business school, now switched to University of Texas engineering, which I mentioned already.

I use to love UCLA so much but then my parents told me I had to go to college in state because they already paid for 2 years of college for an in state school so lately I’ve been in love with UVA!
