What College Did Your PARENTS Go To?

Both of my parents went to Temple, though they didn’t meet there.
Also, my mom was accepted into Cornell and DECLINED! I was like, “REALLY MOMMY?!?! REALLY?!?!?!”

my dad went to Indian Institute of Tech back in the day, then went to University of Illinois Urbana Champagne for masters+doctorate.

mom went to some random school in India for bachelors, then UIUC for masters+doctorate.

my ideal choices would be either Syracuse or Santa Clara

Mom went to UGA, dad went to Savannah State

Mom and Dad went to University of Delaware. Mom then went to Wilmington University for grad school despite having been admitted to Tufts. :/

The ol’ state flagship for both. Arizona State University. I won’t even consider applying there.

My mom went to UCLA and my dad went to USC.
Hoping for UCLA. :D

My dad went to Princeton and my mom went to Columbia.

lol, both transfer students. Dad, University of Northern Iowa and then Arkansas, Mom UCSB and then UCD.

Cool, cool. I see some people that want to go to the same college as their parents and some that don’t. Very interesting…:D

Neither of my parents went to college. I will be attending Cornell University this fall.

Dad: Went to some Asian college, then to Florida State University
Mom: Went to some Asian college

Mom went to Beijing university (Beida)
Dad went to University of Kentucky

They met in grad school at UK lol

Mother: The Ohio State University (with some additional education at Cuyahoga Co. CC)
Father: Kent State University

I’m going to Appalachian State University in NC.

My dad went to Purdue in West Lafayette, which is where I go now. And my mom went to IUN in Gary.

Dad: spent a semester at Davidson, got horrible grades (<2.0), dropped out, then joined the navy and spent 7 years on a submarine. When he left the navy, he went to Carnegie Mellon, where he got an unweighted 4.3 and was the valedictorian. He then got a master’s at University of Michigan Ann Arbor.

Mom: grew up extremely poor but got into a high school for “gifted” girls, went to Carnegie Mellon, didn’t do any of her work, almost got kicked out every semester for her low grades ~2.0), used a loophole to stay enrolled, decided not to do the 5th year required for the Architecture degree, so she got a BFA instead.

Me: applied to Carnegie Mellon even though I didn’t want to go there because I figured double legacy would help my chances and I was unsure of my prospects at other schools. I got into CMU, Hopkins, and University of Maryland College Park (Honors) and decided to go to UMCP.

It’s really nice to see people from all different backgrounds doing so well and having such diverse interests!

There are so many colleges out there!!

Dad to Harvard, Mom to Penn, both to Stanford for graduate school.

Both of my parents went to the state flagship. My father graduated from it, but my mother dropped out and instead joined the Navy. At 50 years old, she graduated from an in-state liberal arts school.

@starlily: Love your location!! LOL!!

Haha, thanks!
