Extra: I pretty much slacked off freshman year and ended up getting a 3.5 gpa, i got it up to a 4.8 by taking more rigorous courses. and i doubled up on math and foreign language classes both sophmore and junior year.( Will this look good on my college applications?) My high reaches are middelbury, vassar, or george washington university. I'd prefer a school that is strong in foreign languages because i am really passionate about them especially french and i'd wish to get a degree in language and another in economics or business. But do i hav nay chances to get into these schools? Which colleges will i be able to get to? And what about financial aid?? Thanks a bunch!

Not a great place for Chances, but I recommend you check out the Hispanic Students forum (under College Admissions, Speciality Topics), particularly the Resources sticky thread which contains links to information on Results, scholarships, summer programs, diversity fly-ins, etc.

If you want a degree in language it is best to make the language component a minor.

You think TAMU, UT-Arlington or UT-Dallas is a problem?

Cannot chance you if you have not taken the SAT or ACT.

What is your unweighted GPA ? Apply to University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University.

Do you think i could have chance in any of the UC’s?

UT-Austin: Are you in the top 7%? If not, you’re better off getting a 30+ on the ACT or a 2050+ on the SAT
TAMU: If a 4.8 weighted qualifies you for top 25%, aim for 1300+ CR+M on the SAT or 27+ Math+English on the ACT

I’m afraid that you cannot afford the UCs as an out-of-stater since asking for financial aid as an OOS for an UC is a big no-go.

Do you think strengthening my extra curricular will make me a better candidate for colleges in general? Because i see all these kids with awesome ec’s but how do they do it? all the clubs my school offers are uninteresting to me(doesnt offer many) Where do i find clubs or ec’s that i can be in. I dont get it :(

Your EC’s seems fine. You have pretty good volunteering hours, you just have to try to stay fairly committed/focused on one or more community service, to show your passion for helping people, etc. The work experience is extraordinary and interesting.
