Chances for a once-Texan...

My stats are as follows. I mostly want to know if the fact that I lived in Texas until age 13, moved to NY and am considering going back will benefit me.

White female from NY at very good public HS that doesn't rank (but I am top 8%ish). I'm a legacy, but I doubt that matters.

UW GPA: 93
SAT: (first try)
CR - 700
W - 800
M - 710
TOTAL = 1410/2210

SAT IIs: 770/750/700/560
AP USH - 4

Senior year courses w/ midyear grades:
AP Calc BC - 85
AP Macroeconomics - 90
AP English Lit - 89
Adv Dance - 97
AP Spanish Lang - 95
AP Bio - 90

ECs:
School newspaper (10th = writer, 11th = entertainment copy editor, 12th = managing/copy editor)
Nat'l Honor Society (President)
Tutoring club for students at the middle school (founder and co-president)
Camp counselor for 4 summers (volunteered one year)
Summer homestay program in Spain (not a big deal, but some of my essays had to do with it)
Studying French independently
Tutor math weekly (paid)

Very good recs & essays.

I want to major in either linguistics, Spanish, int'l economics, or int'l relations.

looks like you have a pretty good shot.

I'm actually not looking anywhere in New York, although I love the city. Otherwise, I'm applying to UVa (deferred ED), UNC - Chapel Hill, Georgetown, William & Mary, Penn State (accepted), Dickinson, Tufts, and Middlebury.

ahh, icic. well, fyi, UT wont look at your writing score, despite its high score. thats too bad. i took the old and the new SAT, and sent in both scores, but they took my old score, which was higher. =)

but overall, i think you have a good shot.

I think you will get in. 60/40 shot

Thank ya. (10 characters...)
