Hello, I want to be a creative writing major and focus on comedy writing. What schools would be my best fit if i wanna do something like this?

Google ‘best undergraduate creative writing programs’ and all the CC threads on this topic will pop up.

For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t focus on what colleges have a program in comedy writing (or drama writing or whatever kind of writing). I’d look for colleges that have a program in writing and that have opportunities in the surrounding city to exercise your writing. Find a school that has an improv comedy troupe, has a comedy club with an open mic night near by, has some people in that business you could potentially work with.

Thanks I’ve been looking at NYU cause its in the heart of New York where there are many comedy troupes like UCB. The only problem I have with NYU is that along with the academics I want a school where I can go to a football game or something like that, thats why I’ve been looking down at FSU or Iowa University. But the part that really matters is the creative writing program itself.

Iowa’s writing program has had a great reputation for decades, but is it a graduate/undergraduate program or both?

I believe that its both

Graduate’s much better at Iowa. Look into Kenyon College.
