NOTE: I only took 1 year of a foreign language in high school.

bumpity bump bump

I don’t know a lot about some of the colleges on your list, and I know a little about some. The one that sticks out a bit is Drexel – that’s mainly a science/engineering /business school. I’m sure it has a History Department and an English Department, but I’ve never met anyone who majored in those subjects there. On the other hand, Drexel may be a canny “counter-programming” choice, since it mainly gets applications from kids with other interests. Of the colleges I know on your list, it is probably the most selective. (With Clark, maybe? Clark is a smart choice, too.)

You have a few big city schools there, and some suburbans, but mainly it’s places in the boondocks. And there’s a mix of smaller schools and larger ones. Do you care one way or another?

Some of these colleges are true admissions safeties for you. You WILL be admitted to Arcadia and Bloomsburg, and I suspect Rowan, too. Maybe Rider as well, and some of the others I don’t know as well. You may want to make more choices before you apply.

Okay, I ran some of your schools through our school’s Naviance Scattergrams. We’re a pretty good big public high school also in NY area. It’s hard to know exactly how your grades will get looked at, I’m guessing many schools will forgive you freshman year and really base your GPA on the next three years.

Drexel everyone with >1700/2400 SAT scores accepted, most kids have an 85-95 weighted GPA.
SUNY Albany looks similar but there are a smattering of 80-85 rejectees in the ca 1500 range - none with 1800 scores.
Clark no one accepted with below an 86 weighted GPA, 1800 was average SAT score.
Franklin Pierce, Rider, Arcadia only a few applicants from our school - look like a safeties based on stats of those accepted though.
Roger Williams looks like a match.

Does your school have Naviance? You’d think a school that boasts about being ranked top 200 in the US would.

That one year of foreign language may be a problem at some schools.

my school has it but I lost my password and cant get it back.

The counselors should be able to help you get back into the system once school starts.

liljay, most importantly you want to be sure that you are not rejected because you have not taken the minimal courses that are required for admission. Many schools require either 2 or 3 years of a foreign language. Are you saying that you have only completed one year in high school? You should check with each school to make sure that you met their requirements for admission, and if you are short a class or two you might want to see if you could still be accepted.

I checked the required courses for all my schools.

^Are you sure you checked? This from Clark:

Mind you, if you are taking a second year of foreign language senior year you’ll be okay.
